Erin Goodwin Guerrero

Conceptual work that stems in equal parts from literary influences and a surreal imagination. New manners of vision where the style and movement, the harmony of its forms and the beauty of its contrasts allow Goodwin to free herself and move towards total expressiveness as she offers the best of herself: her fantastical work.

Through multiple layers of complex imagery and baffling juxtapositions, Goodwin-Guerrero's canvases emit the energy of nature and evoke the gods. The violence of the wind, the harshness of the sun, the vastness of the universe are all depicted in explosions of color and movement that seemingly extend beyond the confines of the canvas. Religious icons, statues or symbols for nature are introduced through photo-silkscreen, inserting a compelling photographic truth to the drama. The virtual cacophony of color and imagery illustrates the frustration and fear that the forces of nature and her ambassadors continue to impose on modern-day man.
